Young labels are serving up mixtures of stylishness and trashiness spiced with just the right amount of wryness and whimsy, almost irreverent look. All aspects of fashion come into play here, but in new and different ways: fashion shibboleths are deconstructed and mixed unconventionally, the watchword being stylistic fragmentation. Deliberately sloppy detailing such as open edges, randomly placed seams and patches are advancing the cause of vintage clothing. Denim is still very important here. The femininity and romance cards are being played to the hilt, with lots of erotic elements, soft fabrics and lingerie detailing, all of which makes women look exquisitely seductive and sexy.

Footwear
Nonconformists are evolving anew look not just in the way they dress but via novel pairings of shoes and clothes. For example winter-style fur boots go perfectly with a sleeveless t-shirt and soft blouse; or high heels are paired with jeans or a casual dress. Also in vogue are sturdy boots twinned with a delicately embroidered miniskirt, or socks with filigree sandalettes. Spurred on by the Olympics and various world championships, running shoes remain big hits, both classic models and innovative multifunction designs.
